syncreon has been awarded an initial 2 year contract to provide inbound receiving, crossdocking, and export shipping services for JaguarLandrover from a new Export Sales Center (ESC) in Shanghai, China. In addition, syncreon has been awarded a separate 5 year contract starting in July 2016 for a new Pre-Production Export Facility based in Coleshill, UK.

These new operations will be in addition to the two existing ESCs in Coleshill & Haydock, UK and Hamburg, Germany which syncreon and JaguarLandrover launched in 2014. The new operations will support JaguarLandrover’s new production sites in China and in Brazil. A fifth syncreon operation was installed in Minworth, UK supporting JaguarLandrover’s KD (Knock Down assembly) program to India.

Expected start of production in Shanghai will be September, 2016. The business in China will develop through maturity into a classical CKD repack operation, increasing in both scope and size. It is the first ESC for JaguarLandrover in the APAC region, filling the supply chain from China to Europe and South America with parts sourced in China. “This is a strategic win for syncreon. We are proud to be JaguarLandrover’s partner of choice and to be part of this global growth opportunity,” said Michael Neumann, syncreon’s President Automotive EMEA & APAC. “This was a competitive RFQ with strong competition from existing organizations in the APAC region. syncreon’s experience and ability to seamlessly implement multifaceted customer solutions was essential in securing this contract.”

In Coleshill, UK, syncreon is currently launching a second facility, specifically designed to manage pre-production level materials for all JaguarLandrover car models exported to China, Brazil and India. The provision of the contract includes release and follow up, transportation, inbound receiving, warehousing, return container management, repack, and export shipping. Rob Duncan, COO syncreon Automotive EMEA commented, “This new business is a testament to the strong operational excellence of our existing UK Export Plants and our strong customer relationship with JaguarLandrover’s Trading Division.”
