Fundraising should have been a difficult feat at the Windsor facility for 2015 as their employees not only endured 16 weeks of shutdown, but 6 weeks of short shifting (4hrs shifts per day) due to our customer re-tooling their plant. In spite of all that, the syncreon Windsor team’ s generosity and care for their community was overwhelming and we were able to raise $6,850 in a little over seven months. Here's what they achieved:
January – The United Way
They held a small raffle for concert tickets that Caesars Windsor donated and raised $100 for the United Way.
August & September – Drouillard Place Youth Center
Drouillard Place reached out to the Windsor team at the end of August and said they were in desperate need of school supplies for the children in their youth centre. syncreon Windsor raised $750 and employees brought in countless backpacks and school supplies.
October – Coats for Kids Drive
This annual program helps children by providing them with gently used or new winter coats. syncreon Windsor raised $1,200 and collected approximately 60 pounds of coats.
November & December -Drouillard Place and Windsor Homes Coalition
Each year syncreon Windsor works in conjunction with Drouillard Place and Windsor Homes Coalition to help low income families at Christmas. syncreon Windsor was able to “adopt” two families at Christmas and make seven children’s wishes come true. In addition, they were able to purchase two $250 food baskets for Windsor Homes Coalition, so two additional families could have a good Christmas. Their employees spent over $1,500 purchasing gifts for the families, we raised $2,300 in donations and we brought in over $1,000 in food donations.
Due to all of their fundraising achievements in 2014, syncreon Windsor team was given the Best Fundraising Efforts Award.
syncreon Windsor was given $1,000 to donate towards the charity of our choice. They elected to sponsor two schools in their community to fund field trips in Spring of 2016 thru the Essex Region Conservation Foundation – Supporting Nature through Education.
Way to go, Windsor!
